Storage Tips

    Purchase Insurance
Belongings worth storing are worth insuring. Homeowners or Renters insurance may not cover belongings while in storage. Verify with your insurance agent and check with an AllSpace representative to find out about acquiring low-cost, storage insurance.
    Pallets
Placing pallets in your storage unit will help maintain your belongings by circulating air beneath them.
    Plan Ahead
Utilize your space as much as possible by planning the arrangement of your items before you place them in the unit.
    Take Apart Large Items
Disassemble items whenever possible. For example, remove legs on tables and break down bed frames, etc.
    Pack Smart
Place items that you need to access frequently near the front of your unit. This helps avoid having to search or climb over items.
    AllSpace Unit Heights
AllSpace unit heights are between 9 and 10 feet, which gives you more space to work with. Be sure to stack your items high.
  • Whenever possible stack your chairs seat to seat. This will give you more packing space.
Stack by Weight
  • Always remember to pack heavier items on the bottom, so that lighter boxes won't get crushed.
  • Make use of old sheets or blankets to protect mattresses and furniture from dust. We don’t recommend using plastic, which can hold in moisture.
  • Plastic storage totes are great for packing smaller items and can be reused after your move.
  • If you are storing any appliances, remember to leave appliance doors slightly ajar to prevent mildew.
  • Do not store any food products in your unit to avoid any unwanted “guests.”
  • Do not store any flammables products, such as kerosene, gas, aerosol cans, or kerosene heaters.
